When it comes putting an oil filter on your Meyers Manx Buggy with a VW Engine, there can be a few issues: you want to keep it up out of the way, and you want it to look cool. If these sound like the issues you have, then consider one of our Oil Filter Mounting Brackets designed specifically to accommodate off-road style exhausts such as our Sidewinder!
The bracket allows the oil filter to be placed directly between the driver's side exhaust bolts and uses them for support. You may need to get longer exhaust studs for the correct fit. Once mounted, it is a good idea to make a rear stay to provide support from the fan shroud, carb manifolds etc. This is to reduce vibrations.
Due to the variety of exhaust systems and configurations people have, you may need to do some minor grinding to clear around your manifold. To help, here we have made it slotted instead of just a drilled hole. These are sold as a raw aluminum finish, but you may wish to finish edges with wet and dry sand paper to your liking.
The Mounting Brackets are not pre-drilled to allow the most versatility and best fit for your buggy. You should mark out your filter mount bracket and drill prior to fitting. If you want the Bracket to be exactly square, simply drill the top one and then mark the rest for drilling; drill the bottom two in place to ensure it is level on the engine.
